With sound bars becoming ever more popular in todays entertainment market, Yamaha have increased their sound bar offerings by providing sound bars that range from the very basic, all the way to what Yamaha call Sound Projectors.
One point of confusion however can be between the YAS-408, otherwise known as MusicCast BAR400 and the ATS-2090. Both come bundled with a subwoofer and sits at around the same price range. Add to that an identical amplification / speaker configuration and at first glance both offerings can be hard to distinguish from each other.
The biggest differentiation between the YAS 408 and ATS 2090 is MusicCast. MusicCast (which you can read more about here) is Yamaha's multiroom feature that offers soi much more such as streaming and the ability to run wireless rear speakers.
While the ATS 2090 does NOT offer MusicCast. The ATS2090 is a bar with Alexa voice control built in (microphones built in). It offers Spotify Connect Premium, Bluetooth and Tidal via the Yamaha Sound Bar Controller app. It is essentially a YAS-109 with a subwoofer all bundled together.
