Thor's new Smart Protect 4 has arrived in store. This unit is a scaled down version of their Smart Board; while most power protection units on the market have a 'clamping voltage' - the point at which they decide there has been a power spike - is around 700 volts. This means that any devices powered from your power board will be subjected to more than twice normal mains voltage before any protection kicks in at all. Thor, however, have a slightly more exacting standard - just 275 volts!
This little guardian angel has 4 power outputs, one of which is oriented to accommodate over-sized 'wall warts'. It also features protection ports for data (RJ45 connections) and aerials (both the standard screw down and F-type connectors).
