Arcam AVRs & Dirac Live

Redirected here? Here's a tldr;

In the Windows Settings App under 'Microphone', there's a setting for "Allow Apps to access microphone". If this is not enabled, Dirac can not work as intended.

Arcam offers Dirac Live on their AVRs and other select products.

What is Dirac?

Dirac is a room correction software suite. It aims to make sure all of your speakers operate at peak performance, in their installed environment.

Why is it relevant to me?

No matter how well a speaker is designed and manufactured, its performance depends heavily on its environment. The shape, size and furnishings of a room all impact on a speakers ability.
This causes the system as a whole to often sound uneven. Dirac in effect ensures that your investment is working at its best, no matter the room it's set up in.

Okay, but why the news article?

Some users have run into an issue at the detect microphone stage with Windows 10.
When running the Dirac Live set up and calibration software, the amplifier and microphone must be 'detected'. However, Windows 10 features a security measure that can cause a glitch.
In the Windows Settings App under 'Microphone', there's a setting for "Allow Apps to access microphone". If this is not enabled, Dirac can not work as intended.
