The company and the brand Schaub Lorenz have played a predominant role in entertainment electronics for over 60 years. From the end of World War 2 Schaub Lorenz became the driving force for technological innovations worldwide.
Schaub Lorenz' “Illustra”, introduced in 1952, was the first colour television set in the world. With a wide product range of portable radios in the sixties, the company was the largest manufacturer and the symbol par excellence for the economic upswing in Germany. Schaub Lorenz is also considered to be a pioneer in digital audio and video technologies. Its standards and innovations opened the way for the entertainment electronics products of today and tomorrow.
During the nineties, Schaub Lorenz celebrated a remarkable comeback. General Trading SpA relaunched the famous brand in Italy realizing a considerable marketing and turnover triumph which only a few had believed to be possible. General Trading SpA also acquired the Schaub Lorenz brand rights, which were transferred to Schaub Lorenz International GmbH later in 2003.
